Oil Spill Response and Emergency Management

The Port of Hastings has equipment and an appropriately trained team to respond to port related emergency’s, including oil spills should they occur.

The Port of Hastings Corporation is the nominated incident controller for Western Port (Cape Schanck to Wilsons Promontory) and should be contacted on 0437 645 026 to report all incidents.

An overall Emergency Management Plan for the Port, including oil spill emergencies has been prepared that details agreed arrangements for the prevention of, response to and recovery from emergencies that could occur within the Port of Hastings. A combined Oil Spill and Emergency Management Committee has been established to facilitate the cooperative approach required for emergency management.
