Board of Directors

The Port of Hastings Corporation (PoHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of new members to the Board of Directors, commencing 1 October 2025.

This leadership team brings together deep expertise across transport infrastructure, commercial strategy, governance, stakeholder engagement, and environmental management and will be focused on ensuring the Port of Hastings continues to play a vital role in driving economic growth opportunities for Victoria.

The Board will also oversee the strategic direction set by our upcoming Port Development Strategy 2025, and the continued development and delivery of the proposed Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal, critical to supporting Victoria’s energy transition.

Meet our Board:

•        Chair - Caryn Anderson

Caryn Anderson is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in infrastructure, transport, and commercial strategy. She has held senior roles at the Port of Melbourne, including leading the Port Lease Transaction. Caryn’s strengths span strategic infrastructure planning and development, ESG, stakeholder engagement, business development, and governance across both public and private sectors.

•        Director - Carolyn Baker

Carolyn Baker is a senior legal and executive leader with a strong background in Melbourne’s transport infrastructure sector. She has held key roles at the Port of Melbourne and ConnectEast, operator of EastLink.

•        Director - Mario D’Elia

Mario D’Elia is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and experienced financial, commercial, and strategic advisor with over two decades of experience in infrastructure and public-private partnerships. As the former National Partner of PwC’s Infrastructure Advisory team, Mario has advised governments and private clients on major capital projects across transport, water, and social infrastructure.

•        Director - Lachlan McDonald

Lachlan McDonald is Executive Director for Intergovernmental Relations at the Department of Transport and Planning. He leads strategic engagement across government on transport and infrastructure policy.

•        Director - Aisha Nicolay

Aisha Nicolay is a governance specialist and experienced leader, currently serving as Chair of the Public Transport Ombudsman. Her expertise includes corporate governance, strategic planning, and cultural transformation across diverse sectors.

•        Director - Suzanna Sheed AM

Suzanna Sheed is a government relations and strategy advisor, lawyer, and former Independent Member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly for Shepparton (2014–2022). Prior to her parliamentary career, she practiced family and commercial law and served as a Director for RACV.
